JAL TATTVA (WATER ELEMENT), EFFECTS, BALANCE

Apas or water is derived from the word “Aap” which means to infuse or saturate. It is a vast quantity of matter, which is very intensive and active. It is born out of Agni tatwa[1].



On a grosser level transportation of various cells, movability, solubility, and flexibility are some of the functions performed by this element. On a subtle level, our emotions, love, laziness, passion, flexibility of thoughts are part of this element.
On a spiritual level, universal love, flexibility in approach towards universal divine energy is some of its effects.

Disturbance in Jal tatwa causes apathy, hatred, rigidity, constipation lack of emotions, kshudra[2] psychic powers, depression, bulky body, laziness, alcoholism, lust etc.

RESTORING THE BALANCE:








Drink a lot of clean water. The temperature of the water should be normal. Cold water is not good for health. Luke warm water or hot water is good if you are suffering from constipation or you are overweight.
The beeja mantras of this element should not be chanted without proper guidance. This is a part of Shrividhya and requires proper initiation before practice.
Having daily bath, Kunjal Kriya etc or coming in contact with water in any form helps restore the lost balance.
